BHOPAL: The Jabalpur High Court on Thursday allowed 20 pre-PG students of 2012 batch to attend classes. However, they will neither be allowed to appear in examination nor provided internship certificate. The students had moved the high court seeking its permission to continue the course.
Additional advocate general Purushaindra Kaurav said that no benefits would be allowed to Vyapam-tainted students. Twenty cases related to PMT examination 2012 and Pre-PG Examination 2012 were listed before a division bench, comprising acting Chief Justice Rajendra Menon and Justice Anjuli Palo.
These cases were pending as the bench was awaiting the verdict of Supreme Court. Counsels for the petitioners prayed for two weeks’ time to argue the matter and contend that petitions were distinct from the SLP dismissed by the Supreme Court recently.
The high court by way of last indulgence directed the matter to be listed in the first week of April while clarifying that the students would be permitted to attend classes only but would not be permitted to take part in the examination or be granted internship certificates.
AAG, Purushaindra Kaurav appeared for the professional examination board and brought on record that these students were enjoying benefits of the interim order and were appearing in exams too.
However, as their cases too were came under Supreme Court’s recent decision, the court modified the relief granted to them.
