Special DG Vijay Kumar Singh or DG jail Sanjay Choudhary may become in-charge DGP. According to sources director general of police Rishi Kumar Shukla is suffering from triple vessel disease and has been referred to Asian Heart Institute Mumbai for the treatment. Chief electoral officer VL Kantha Rao informed “We have received the names panel from the government and they have been sent to the EC for the decision.” The name is likely to be declared in day or two, by the EC.
According to sources the names are: special DG and chairman of police housing corporation Vijay Kumar Singh, special DG police reform Maithili Sharan Gupta and DG jail Sanjay Coudhary. DG Vijay Kumar Singh is the IPS officer of 1984 batch, he one of the senior most officer whose name is sent in the panel. Earlier when the DGP had gone on 15 days leave the Singh had taken the charge of his office. The DGP may return to office after November and the election process in the MP will start from November 2.
DGP on medical leave
The DGP is suffering from anxiety for long time and earlier he was admitted in private hospital in Bhopal. In Bhopal the DGP underwent trade mill test (TMT) and it was found that he is suffering from triple vessel disease. In this disease triple-vessels become narrow, which causes chest pain or shortness of breath in patient. He is already is suffering from Type-2 diabetes since 2016 and hypertension. The hospital has advised him to undergo coronary artery bypass surgery. DGP has gone on 6 weeks medical leave to undergo treatment in Asian Institute of Heart in Bandra, Mumbai.
