Bhopal: Two incidents of fire reported

BHOPAL: Furniture worth Rs 1 lakh were gutted in a fire that broke out at the office of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC). The incident took place at the office of Zone number 4 in Mangalwara at around 8 pm. According to sources, the fire broke out due to short circuit in the room of Zone office located at the second floor of the building. The fire was later controlled by two fire fighters. The fire caused damage to only furniture and no document related to wards were damaged in the fire.

According to ward officer Amit Tiwari the fire was caused by short circuit but no other damage has been done except for the furniture in the office of zone chairman Sanjeev Gupta. The area remains crowded in normal days but the rescue work could be carried out easily because the fire occurred on a Sunday. In another incident, a major fire broke out at Kabadkhana located near Sindhi colony at around 08:30 pm. After receiving information fire tenders from various fire stations were pressed into action. The fire broke out in a three sotreyed factory located in the area and over 20 fire tenders were battling flames till even after 1 hour of the incident.
