Minister out to defeat purpose of CM’s file tracking system Has not budged from Shahdol for the past 2 Months
Bhopal: Minister for scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, Gyan Singh is out to defeat the objective of the file tracking system proposed by the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The CM has instructed that such a system should be put in place in all government departments in the state.
More than 500 files are pending with the minister for the past two months. The minister could not dispose of these files as he is busy in perfecting the BJP’s poll strategy for the Shahdol LS bye-elections.
The number of files of the two departments pending for Singh’s consideration is rising by the day but he does not have time to dispose them. Sources said the files are now being sent to Gyan Singh’s native villages so that he can through them.
These files are related to key decisions departmental decisions and also some issues which are to be put up before the cabinet. They also include files related to departmental inquiries against officers. Besides, there are several files, non-disposal of which is leading to delay in allotment of budget.
Singh had told his departmental officers that he does not have the time to come to Bhopal. Singh does not enjoy the reputation of a quick workers. And now is doing almost nothing on the pretext of Shahdol by-polls. Singh is staying put in Shahdol for two months. He is paying full attention to the constituency as he feels that he may be given party ticket to contest the elections.
Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, three months back, had asked all departments to prepare file tracking system to pinpoint the delays in movement of files. Chouhan had also asked his ministers to dispose one file in three days, if there is no urgency. The number of files coming to Singh is on rise but their disposal rate is almost negligible.
A senior officer maintains that several works have been stuck due to the minister’s failure to clear the files.
