About Transit Oriented Development

This ambitious policy aims at increasing business on transit routes to discourage use of private vehicles and promote public transport. The policy has been framed with metro rail projects in mind.  Once notified, the rules will provide for land use around metro route especially near the stations to be changed into mix use thereby allowing residential and commercial complexes at one place. This would encourage development of high rise buildings that would accommodate offices, markets and residences in one complex.

Mishra said that state government has decided to celebrate Adivasi Day on August 9. Government has declared holiday on August 9. Though this day would be celebrated across the state but special focus would be laid in 22 tribal dominated districts. Public representatives would hold special programmes on this day.
