Fourteen Lok Sabha seats figured in a discussion held between former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, state president of BJP Rakesh Singh and the organisational general secretary Suhas Bhagat on Wednesday. While the three leaders asked the state leadership to think about some new names for those seats, they dwelt upon that aspect too. The name of Narendra Singh Tomar for Bhopal seat figured in the discussion, but he has already been fielded from Morena.
Nevertheless, they felt that Tomar should be fielded from Bhopal to take on Digvijaya Singh and some other person should contest from Morena. Besides, Guna and Chhindwara seats also figured in the discussion, and the three leaders felt that, a celebrity should be pitted against the Congress candidate in Guna. The Central leadership of the party, however, wants to field some renowned persons from Guna and Chhindwara.
The state leadership has recommended the name of Manmohan Batti of the Gondwana Ganatantra Party from Chhindwara. Batti who is in touch with the state leadership of the BJP may be given ticket from there once he joins the party. The RSS also proposed some names that were discussed at the meeting of the three leaders.
Ticket aspirants approach Chouhan
Former minister Lalita Yadav met former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and sought ticket from Khajuraho. The constituency of Yadav was changed during the Vidhan Sabha elections. Since she has lost election, she wants that her constituency should be changed. Similarly, former MLA Satish Malviya who was not given ticket during the Vidhan Sabha elections demanded it from Devas Lok Sabha constituency
