Bhopal: Thieves target house of woman visiting daughter in Norway

Bhopal: The house of a media in-charge of Health Department was targeted by burglars who escaped with valuables worth lakhs of rupees at Tulsi Nagar under TT Nagar police station area.

According to police sources, victim Reeta Agrawal has gone to Norway to meet her daughter and thieves struck at her vacant house in her absence.

Police said that the guard who was assigned to take care of the house was not present due to some work and later a complaint was lodged by Agrawal’s neighbour Sunita Gupta about the theft.

Police have registered a case under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC and started further investigation.

Meanwhile valuables worth Rs 1.5 lakh were burgled from the house of an employee posted at Central Jail Bhopal at Vijay Nagar under Koh-e-Fiza police station area late in the night on Sunday.

Victim Ravish Kumar along with his family had gone to attend a function in Kolar in the evening and when they returned valuables were found burgled.

A complaint was lodged with the police and in his complaint he stated that the he along with his family left his home at around 7pm and when he returned at around 11.30pm the lock of the door was found broken and on entering the house the valuables from almirah were found burgled. Gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 1.35 lakh and Rs 15000 cash were burgled.

Besides, gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 1 lakh were stolen from Khanugaon area under Koh-e-Fiza police station area on Sunday.

According to police sources, victim Faizan Khan found his house burgled in his absence.

As per complaint, six gold rings, one gold chain, three pairs of gold earrings, one gold bangle, and one pair silver anklet have been stolen. The total loss was around Rs 1 lakh, the victim claimed.

The complainant works with a news channel and he was on duty when the incident took place. The missing of the jewellery surfaced after the victim’s wife checked for the jewellery but failed to find them on October 20. Later a complaint was lodged on Sunday regarding the theft. Police said that the complainant has raised suspicion on three domestic helps who work for the residents of the apartment. During the investigation police found that the family members were at house during the period in which the theft took place.
