BHOPAL: Thieves made away with cash and valuables worth Rs 14 lakh from house of a trader who was on London tour. The trader had hired two security guards but before leaving to London, he had sent them on leave
He runs a shop in Chowk area and lives in NRI colony at Kohefiza. According to Kohefiza SHO Ambresh Bohare, the trader, Piyush Gupta, 42 had left for London on June 11 and on his return on June 20, he found his house ransacked and relieved of the valuables. His revolver was also found missing.
The complainant told police that his relatives who lived in the area use to visit his house in his absence to water the plants. However, they did not turn up on Tuesday and Wednesday and the theft occurred during this period. There is no CCTV camera around and we are seeking footage from nearby areas, said Bohare.
