BHOPAL: Several students demonstrated at the directorate of medical education (DME) alleging they were not called for the first round of state NEET counselling, on Tuesday. The DME has given them chance to submit their fees. For the first time the date of fee submission and new date of counselling has been rescheduled.
Parents and students reached the DME office and claimed they were not called for the counselling, although they had registered themselves. The first round of counselling concluded on Monday, in which around 16,000 students had registered.
DME officials found that the agitating students had not submitted the fess and as a result they were not called for the counselling. DME has decided that from Wednesday morning to Thursday 12 noon, the students can deposit their fees and participate in the counselling on July 22.
Those already registered don’t need to register again
Assistant director of medical education Dr Sashi Gandhi said candidates already registered were not required to register again. Eligible but unregistered candidates of NEET UG 2016 can register themselves up to 12 noon Thursday.
Publication of revised state merit list will be on July 20. Choice filing and choice locking from will be submitted on July 21 and 22 up to 5 pm. Process of seat allotment round-1 is from July 23 to 25. The result of round-1 will be published on July 26. Reporting at allotted medical and dental colleges for scrutiny and admission will be done in five days starting July 27. Online up gradation option will start from July 27 and conclude on August 1. Online registration at college level can be done from July 27 to August 10.
