Bhopal: The New Market is all set to be turned into an ideal market following the resolution of stalemate over parking. Traders and the residents inside have agreed to not to park any vehicles inside the market from February 22. In a meeting held at TT Nagar police station, deputy inspector general (DIG) Bhopal Irshaad Wali and commissioner of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) B Vijay Dutta asked the traders to ensure no entry for the transport vehicles after 4 in the evening.
Stakeholders concerned also decided that the market should have no other area for parking and the multi-level parking will be the sole parking lot which will be used by the residents, traders and the visitors. This will help towards development of the whole market as an ideal market. All the residents have been given time till February 22 and after that anyone found flouting the rules will be fined under law.
Traders, residents to get concessional parking
In a meet that was held few months ago, similar proposal was brought but it was kept in limbo as the multi level parking was then managed by Mindtech company that had refused to offer passes on the rates then suggested by the traders and residents of the area.
Now that the parking is being handled by the BSCDCL the demand of the residents and the traders for concessional passes was pitched again. This time around they were offered passes at Rs 150 a month for two-wheeler and Rs 450 a month for four-wheeler, which they agreed to, consequently, the stalemate was resolved.
