At the state-level Sindhi community convention held by Sindhi Central Panchayat in Sindhu Bhavan on Sunday- the Sindhi community has demanded six Vidhan Sabha seats: Bhopal (Huzur), Indore-4, Katni, Jabalpur (cant), Satna, Dewas, Gwalior (south) from Congress and BJP in coming Vidhan Sabha elections.

Sindhi Central Panchayat’s president and ex-Principal secretary (Vidhan Sabha) Bhagwandev Ishrani said, “Even after 70 years of Independence, the problems of Sindhi community like lease, merger and others issue has not been solved. “

“We had big expectations from BJP. But despite being in power for the last 15 years, BJP did not show any interest in settling our long pending issues. Ishwardas Rohani who represented Jabalpur Cantt was Vidhan Sabha speaker. Rohani did his best for Jabalpur Cantt Vidhan Sabha constituency but Sindhi community related issues are still pending.” Ishrani said, “Our problems are pending because of lack of proper leadership.

This is the reason; we have demanded people representation in Vidhan Sabha to raise the issue in House.” Responding to a question as to what will be their course of action in case seats are not given, he said, “We have constituted core committee of Sindhi community to take decision in case, BJP and Congress do not oblige Sindhi community.

We have talked to state as well as central leadership of both the political parties. Even Congress has appointed Sindhi community leader as general secretary. But option is open for Sindhi community. BSP, SAPAKS are also in touch with us.”
“We have 13 lakh to 14 lakh voters in Madhya Pradesh and have direct impact in 50 seats of 30 districts. So our demands are very much justified,” Ishrani added.
