BHOPAL: School education department is slated to get 116 new school buildings that are expected to bring pleasant change for students. Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will perform bhumi pujan of construction works worth Rs 264 crore online on Tuesday to improve school education in the state, said officials of CM secretariat.
The chief minister will dedicate 45 newly constructed school buildings of department to people at Minto Hall on Tuesday. The school education department has spent Rs 51.40 crore on construction of high school buildings, higher secondary school buildings, hostels and multi-purpose buildings to strengthen the school education infrastructure in state.
In addition, bhumi pujan of 71 school buildings of Tribal Affairs Department to be built at a cost of Rs 213.80 crore will be performed. The Tribal Affairs Department will construct schools and hostels in Alirajpur, Umaria, Khargone, Jhabua, Dhar, Barwani, Mandla, Ratlam, Shahdol, Seoni and Hoshangabad districts.
Some of these school buildings also include CM Rise Schools. Besides these schools, the chief minister insisted on improving infrastructure of schools across the state.
A department official said that special emphasis has been given on developing hostels and multipurpose buildings on school premises as part of futuristic approach.
