BHOPAL: CBI has informed Vyapam whistle blower Paras Saklecha that his complaint was pending at the office of chief secretary since August 2016. The probe agency also expressed its helplessness to Saklecha stating that they do not have jurisdiction to initiate investigations into the allegations raised in his complaint.
With the forming of new government in the state, the ghost of Vyapam has once again raised its head. The investigation agency which had received the complaint on July 14, 2015 has started corresponding with the complainant once again.
Recently, on May 27, CBI wrote to Saklesha stating that the investigation into various allegations in his complaint were found to be beyond their jurisdiction. As the mandate of CBI investigation in Vyapam Scam cases is limited to investigation of cases that have been registered by the CBI on the basis of information provided by STF on July 13,2015.
The cases were taken by the CBI in the compliance of the Supreme Court order dated July 9, 2015 and September 11,2015. ‘Hence your above said original complaint July 14,2015, was forwarded by this office to the office of chief secretary for taking further necessary action at their end,’ read the letter.
Saklesha informed Free Press that he had submitted the 320-page complaint to the CBI in July 2014. In the complaint he had raised many issues related to Vyapam scam which were not covered by STF.
He alleged that the STF had ‘skilfully’ investigated the scam, leaving many points and giving importance to very small issues. “Importantly the then CS did not take any decision over my complaint and till date it is pending in the office. Whereas it is also important why the CBI woke up and replied to my complaint after the span of almost four years”, he informed.
