Bhopal: Sadhvi files papers, links Hindutva with devpt

BJP candidate from Bhopal, Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, submitted her nomination on Tuesday. According to her affidavit, Thakur has total assets worth Rs 4,44,224, including Rs 90,000 in cash and Rs 99,824 deposited in two bank accounts in Bhopal. Sitting MP Alok Sanjar also filed nomination papers as ‘dummy candidate’. Dr Veena Ghanekar, retired IAS, filed her nomination as SPAKS candidate.

Tuesday was last day of filing nominations. Rajesh Keer of Bahujan Shakti filed nomination while Sonu Das Akhil Bharatiya Vikash Congress Party also filed nomination.  There are 18 candidates filed nominations.  Will protect women:  Thakur said she was contesting election just to protect interest of women. “I am a spiritual leader and spiritual leaders have to be in election fray when corruption and atrocity are on rise”, she added.

Addressing a rally at Somwara Chowk, she said, “Digvijaya Singh says Hindutva is not in his dictionary. Had Digvijaya been a Hindu, he would have committed atrocity on women. I am living evidence of his atrocity. I was harassed and tortured.” Targeting Congress, Pragya said, “After Congress came to power, load shedding begins in the state.  It is time for Congress to reply.” Former CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan said, “With candidature of Pragya, entire Congress is looking in tension. She is like my sister.

She was tortured in jail. She was physically assaulted. Now public will ask Digvijaya Singh on atrocity against Pragya.”  Chauhan said, “ Digvijay Singh committed a sin by linking Bhagwa(saffron) to terrorism. Congress defamed Hindu which is a culture. Saffron treat entire world as family. Digvijaya Singh tainted culture of the country, entire world has respect for it. Congress disrespected to MP. It also disrespect farmers, youths.”

State president Rakesh Singh said, “It is election between two arch rivals. We are trying to sketch blue print of development. During tenure of Shivraj Singh Chauhan, MP made tremendous development and now Congress is ruining the state again. It is election time and Congress as well as Digvijay Singh is confronting Saffron. Under leadership of PM Modi, the country set mile stone in development.”
