The state government had waived off Rs 10,000 crore loan of 24.84 lakh farmers, informed agriculture minister Sachin Yadav on Tuesday. Addressing media persons here, the minister charged BJP of creating confusion over farm loan waiver scheme of the Congress government. The BJP leaders are annoyed with the farmers as they did not vote for them in the State Assembly elections, said Yadav.
The farmers were looted by the BJP leaders as well as by government officials and so they voted BJP out, he added. “The loan waiver scheme has brought to fore the irregularities in the disbursement of loan as hundreds of farmers who had never taken loan were shown as debtors. The scheme exposed the misdeeds of the previous government and their sheltered officials. The government will fix the accountability and spare no guilty,” said the minister. Highlighting the government’s achievement in last 82 days, the minister said that it has fulfilled the promises it made in its Vachan Patra.
Farmers to seek Rs 2 lakh from Narottam Mishra
The minister said that the farmers will meet MLA Narottam Mishra and seek Rs 2 lakh as promised by him. Earlier, Mishra accusing the Congress government of cheating farmers had said that no farm loan was waived and ‘if someone brought him an NOC certificate he would give him Rs 2 lakh.
“From Wednesday onwards the farmers will go to MLA Narottam Mishra and show him no dues certificate of the loan and demand him to pay Rs 2 lakh,” said Sachin Yadav. He also added that the farmers will also meet the leader of opposition Gopal Bhargava who too has raised doubt over the waiving of farm loan. The farmers will submit lists of farmers whose loan have been waived off, he added.
