Bhopal: Known for its philanthropic works, the Rotary International is going install 10 dialysis machines in the district hospitals of the state. RI district governor Gustad Anklesaria, while addressing a training session of Rotarians here on Sunday, informed that presently seven dialysis machines are being maintained by the RI and 10 others will be installed shortly in the district hospitals.

The patients belonging to lower middle class, who are spending thousands of rupees on the medical procedures, will be benefitted by installations of these dialysis machines, he added. The person will be charged Rs 400 per dialysis sitting, while the market rate for the same is around Rs 2000, he informed. A-day-long training session of the Rotary International District 3040, was organised here on Sunday to inform its members the RI’s focus for the year 2018-19.

Informing about the RI’s future plans, Anklesaria said that RI will be going to distribute 2000 units of furniture to the government schools which will benefit around 6000 students.  Similarly 500 wash stations will also be given to the schools. Anklesaria also said that every club should organise five blood donation camps in the year. He also called upon every member to plant at least one tree and also make sure that their family members do the same.

Stressing on out of box thinking, Mumbai-based Dr Bal Krishna Inamdar said Rotarians should become ‘Unreasonable’, if they want to serve the society.  In the USA, 20 per cent of the start-ups have been started by Indians, “Because our thought level is out of box”. “Our main strength is fellowship. RI gives us the opportunity to become leader. Former prime minister IK Gujral was also the Rotarian,” said Mukesh Arneja who had come to attend the event from Delhi.

Coordinator of the conference Kulbhushan Chopra informed that the RI District 3040 is spread in 23 districts of the state and two districts of Gujarat. In these districts, 92 club members are serving the society with their full efforts, he said. The members were informed that RI year will start from July 1 and ‘inspiration’ is the motto for the Rotary for the year 2018-19.
