BHOPAL: Bhopal has proudly managed to secure second position in the Swachh Sarvekshan Awards 2017 but social media is skeptic about Bhopal winning the award. People on social media are happy but they are also questioning as to how Bhopal can win the award even after the city is not as clean as it should have been.
Posts like complaining about dumping ground of BMC within the city limits and non responsive Swachh Bhopal application launched by Bhopal Municipal Corporation are all over social media. Sushant Kausal posts, “Bhopal receives 2nd prize, cleanest cities of India declared by GOI under Swachh Bharat Sarvekshan 2017. What a Joke!”. Shashank Shrivastav posted a status with a screen shot of Swachh Bhopal App where his complaint about the dumping ground of BMC and the problem faced by people residing around the area and passers by with the huge garbage being dumped. Varun Namdev posts that the ranking is done by online voting, ground reality is different but greenery is unmatched undoubtedly and MP government is too good at marketing.
Also, there are people who are condemning such posts by saying that even if it is not completely clean but the award should be appreciated and should be taken as an encouragement for keeping Bhopal clean.
