Bhopal: Private hospitals are over burdened with swine flu cases all over Madhya Pradesh.  Lack of medical facilities at the district level hospitals has lead to an increase in swine flu death cases. Nearly 40 swine death cases have been reported so far in MP.

Medical superintendent of Hamidia Hospital Dr AK Shrivastava said, “We hardly ever refer any patient from our hospital. We have sufficient stock medicines with well equipped isolation wards. Even a team led by joint director, which had came for inspection, were satisfied with the facilities. Problem does exist at district-level hospitals and this is the reason swine flu deaths are coming into notice.”

In places like Gwaliior, the cases are being referred to AIIMS Delhi. Minister has also issued a warning to the private hospitals for cancellation of their licenses in case any complaint is lodged on ground of deficiency during the treatment of swine flu cases.
