Bhopal: Ex-Chief Minister and BJP national vice president Shivraj Singh Chouhan has written to Chief Minister Kamal Nath for providing financial relief to frost hit farmers in Madhya Pradesh. He visited Rajgarh, Agar, Dewas and Ujjain districts to take the stock of crop damage due to frost in the two districts from January 15 and January 16.
He said that survey for frost-hit crops has not been started so far. BJP national vice president further said, “Crops of gram, brinjal, coriander, masoor, potatoes have been completely damaged due to frost in the said districts. And district administration has not started survey which I came to know by farmers during meeting and interaction. Neither political representative nor any officials visited the villages to take the stock of damage. Farmers are in dire need of financial support from the government at this crucial moment.”
Chouhan demanded, “Government should start survey and ensure instant help to affected farmers. Besides, farmers should be provided interest free loan. Brinjal should be included in list of damaged crops. Government should make arrangement for financial support of marriages, and medical care of sick in the families of affected farmers.”
