BHOPAL: TT Nagar police have themselves captured half of the road for their own parking. Under such circumstances how can the authority concerned discourage encroachments in the state capital?
Mushrooming encroachment is a deep concern for Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) administration. From time to time anti-encroachment drive is launched to remove encroachments but the situation remains same.
TT Nagar police have captured half of the road length by placing barricades. It has shrunk the space for traffic users and made the road congested. In the evenings, the road becomes congested and traffic users face difficulties. People, especially ladies, face problems in driving even their light vehicles in rush hours as both the roads are encroached by parking.
Ajay Singh said, “It is pathetic that the road is entirely captured and road users hardly find space to drive vehicles. On the one hand parking is allotted but on the other, the police have captured half the road. Even barricades have been placed. All big vehicles including dumpers are parked on the roadside.”
Mohammed Shaheed said, “We have raised the issue many times. But when the police themselves are encroaches, how could BMC administration muster courage to take action against theme? BMC administration can not dictate its terms and condition against such encroachments. ”
Sunil Kumar said, “We can not pass through this road in the evening. There happens to be a heavy rush. Even walkers do not find space to go on foot. It is very serious matter. BMC administration should intervene. It is challenging task for the BMC administration to discourage such kind of encroachment.” Anjum said, “It becomes difficult to drive in rush hours, particularly in the evening. Then people realise the encroachments by parking lots and police station. Something must be done to end the menace.”
