Bhopal: The road near the Mansarowar complex was blocked by the residents of Shanti Nagar area after personnel of special force of RPF Habibganj allegedly made some obscene demands from the residents. One RPF personnel sustained injuries in the incident while RPF is likely to suspend four accused including the injured.
Virendra Singh Chouhan, station house officer,Habibganj and his team arrived at the spot in the noon and took the agitating people to the police station. According to the residents, a group of four RPF men turned up in their locality. One man from the group entered their locality and made a demand for women. The residents got agitated at this and informed the police. They tried to hold him back till the police arrived but his friends manage to take him before police could arrive.
The residents complained that police was hesitant in registering their complaint. SHO Chouhan when contacted initially said that it seems a case of routine patrol by RPF personnel in the area which the slum dwellers opposed. However, the agitating slum dwellers had clips shot in their mobile phones where the accused were not seen in uniform. The complainants also produced an identity card of one of the accused whose name was Mahendra Singh. He has sustained injuries in the incident.
Initially, the on duty officer was writing the complaint of a scuffle related to a cigarette which the accused had demanded from a vendor. The Habibganj police did not quiz any of the accused till the time of filing of the report. According to Habibganj SHO Chouhan RPF has taken action against the four accused who are likely to get suspended in connection with the incident while one of the four accused has sustained injuries in the scuffle.
