Bhopal: The streets in the city are being cleaned and washed with water as the team of central government reached on Thursday. The team of QCI, which will carry out the survey work for ODF double plus is likely to visit the city on Friday early hours

Over 300 public and community toilets and individual toilets in the city will be examined by the teams. The railway tracks are being monitored by the officials of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) as recently, a group of people were caught there defecating after which they were fined.

The first phase of ODF double plus will carry 250 marks while the star rating and star rankings will carry 1250 marks each. The public opinion will also carry 500 marks for the survey, this year. The survey for the first phase will start on Friday at around 4 am and the teams will give a feedback to the central government.

Additional commissioner in the BMC MP Singh said city residents are aware of the rules but sometimes outsiders arrive for functions and they defecate in open for which we fine them but we are ensuring no one repeats it as the teams for the cleanliness survey are to arrive. Cleanliness survey is a concern as Bhopal’s rank was second across the country in the survey of last year.
