BHOPAL: National Student’s Union of India (NSUI) and some other social organisations demonstrated at the venue of the meeting of state-level private school heads and education minister, on Thursday.
Ruckus occurred when members of NSUI and some private organisations gathered at the venue and demanded to meet the school education minister Vijay Shah to submit their memorandum. A large number of police personnel controlled the demonstrators.
After the meeting the minister took the memorandums and also assured to take proper action on their demands. NSUI state spokesperson Vivek Tripathi said they had submitted their six-point demand letter to the minister. They have demanded the private schools should not compel parents to purchase uniform, books and other things from particular shops.
They demanded controlling excess fee hike and to follow the RTE Act promptly. Every day before starting school, flag hoisting and national anthem should be made compulsory. President of NGO, Nitin Gupta said the minister should enforce the instructions made by the MHRD to use NCERT books and not compel parents to purchase books of private publishers.
