Bhopal: Performance of Surya Namaskar would be held in the state capital on Saturday to mark birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, which is celebrated as Youth Day. The main programme in the state capital will be held at Subhash Excellence School where ministers will remain present.
Most of the events that were being held in the previous BJP regime will be held this year as well but the only thing missing is the gala hype that the programme used to get in previous government and participation of Chief Minister Kamal Nath. Nath is in New Delhi and won’t participate in the programme.
In his message to students, CM said that every citizen should be healthy and posses healthy thoughts to contribute to rebuilding a healthy India. He said that this yogic practice is fully scientific in every respect. Rituals of sun worship are mentioned in all almost all religions as sun is the source of life.
All schools, colleges, universities and educational institutions- private and government, have been given instructions to hold the programme with same grace and magnitude. “Surya Namaskar will be held with all grace. We believe that this is an occasion for sending a message among youth to remain fit and healthy. We don’t believe in show-off as the previous government used to do it,” said Congress spokesperson Ravi Saxena.
All the government officials, Free Press talked to, did not come on record, on the issue but said that no changes were made in the programme. All the programmes are being carried out as they were being done in previous years- except that the main programme was held at the Lal Parade Ground.
