Bhopal: National Highway Authority (NHA), civil engineer has filed a harassment complaint with state woman commission seeking action against her former boss. Accusing the Guna project director V P Gupta of allegedly harassing her, the woman official, told the commission that he created such unfavourable working environment for her in Guna office that she had to take a transfer to Bhopal.
Gupta never wanted me to work in the office, he dint even give chairs to other women engineers to sit, the woman told the bench headed by commission chairperson Lata Wankhede on Thursday. She told the bench that after clearing PSC, she was sent to NHA Guna office on deputation where she worked for two years. “Gupta did not want me in the office as he was unable to do any kind of corruption in my presence,” said the engineer.
The official said that she before approaching the Commission had complained to internal grievances committee and her senior official too but no action was taken. She finally took a transfer to Bhopal. Wankhede has taken the statements of both sides and written to Guna SP to look into the case. In another case, a nurse has filed a complaint against AIIMS deputy director Santosh Segar accusing him of harassment. Segar has refuted all her allegation. The commission also took too up domestic violence case of a woman, resident of Gufa Mandir. The woman’s husband was allegedly beating her over dowry demand.
