BHOPAL: Sadhvi Pragya Thakur has supported ban on burqa in Sri Lanka stating that said country should always be first. Interacting with media here ion Wednesday, the BJP candidate from Bhopal parliamentary seat said whatever is required to ensure national security must be done. A terrorists commit crime wearing burqa and thus brings bad name to their community, she stated. Even at the airport, one has to remove the Burqa.
Even checking is done by removing clothes during foreign trips and we could not do anything, she added. So, where the security of the country is concerned, it should be done, said BJP leader. Pragya said the issue should not be dealt with framing law and insisted on leaving the matter to the concerned community to decide. A nation-wide debate is on after Shiv Sena on Wednesday called for a ban on the use of burqa as it threw its weight behind a similar decision by the Sri Lankan government in the wake of the Easter terror strikes which claimed over 250 lives.
