BHOPAL: “Nowadays stunts have become an essential part of dance. I personally feel unless we dancers innovate, people will get bored. I think, experiments should be in every field especially in performing arts,” said Sanam Johar, choreographer and one of the contestants of dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye Season 8. Johar was in city of lakes along with his co-dancer and lover Abigail Pande on Thursday for promotion.
He further said, “I do all forms of dance but mostly in modern contemporary form. I took nine months training in classical ballet. I’m doing reality shows for the past six years and I think versatility is essential for doing something new. Although I am not saying our traditional and classical dances are not good, it is good to be versatile.”
Sanam Johar and Abigail Pande have already set the stage on fire with their performances week-on-week basis. Being the top scorers in the show, they have already become judges’ favourites and ace dancers. Being the youngest couple on the show, they receive immense love and care from everyone around.
Talking about their love story Abigail said, “Sanam and I met through a common friend. I liked his company instantly but Sanam wasn’t ready for a relationship back then. He wanted to focus on his career. After a year of going around and chasing, he finally asked me out and I immediately agreed. Sanam is already a trained dancer and I have seen him dancing with others. I always want to dance with him and share a stage with him and what better stage than Nach Baliye. The show and journey is going amazing and we like every bit of it as we’re discovering more about each other, after every passing day.” Produced by BBC, the show airs on Saturdays and Sundays at 8 pm only on STAR PLUS.
