Bhopal: The Model Code of Conduct came into force in Madhya Pradesh also, with announcement of poll dates for Lok Sabha elections on Sunday. It would remain in effect till May 27. Over 5.14 crore voters of will choose 29 Members of Parliament in polling which will be held in four phases in MP. Elections in MP starts from phase four and conclude with seventh and last phase of election schedule with voting on May 19.
Elections for six Parliamentary Constituencies (PC) Sidhi, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat and Chhindwara will be held in first phase, (ECI’s fourth phase) that will go to polling on April 29. Assembly by-election for Chhindwara assembly too will be held along with Lok Sabha election on April 29. In second phase (ECI’s fifth phase) elections for 7 PCs: Tikamgarh, Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa, Hoshangabad and Betul, will be held on May 6.
Eight PCs: Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Guna, Sagar, Vidisha, Bhopal and Rajgarh will go to poll in third phase (ECI’s sixth on May 12. Lok Sabha elections for the nation will conclude with the seventh and the last phase. In MP, eight constituencies: Dewas, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Dhar, Indore, Khargone and Khandwa will go for voting on May 29. Counting will be done for all parliamentary constituencies on May 23 across the nation
