Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh is facing a drought like situation due to scanty rainfall. But there is hope as monsoon has not withdrawn from the state. Monsoon withdraws from state by September 15. Rainfall occurred in several parts of state on Sunday and Wednesday.
As per reports, 18 out of 51 districts have received normal rainfall from June to September 15. In 33 districts, rains were less than normal. The state’s normal average rainfall is 902.1 milimetres. But this year, the state has received 696.00 mm of rains. This means there is deficit of 33 percent.
Katni received 11cm of rainfall, Balaghat, Chhindwara, and Singrauli received 5 cm of rains each. Baraseoni and Seoni received 4 cm of rainfall whereas Sausar, Malajkhand, Hanumana and Kevlari received 3 cms of rainfall. The districts which received normal rainfall include Katni, Chhindwara, Indore, Khandwa, Ujjain, Ratlam. Bhopal, Jabalpur, Balaghat, Gwalior have received scanty rainfall.
