BHOPAL: English question paper of class 12 MP Board was distributed to students of class IX in Harda district. Surprisingly, the students didn’t utter a word. Instead, they wrote the paper and went home. The matter came to fore on Friday when a teacher found the question paper box open in police station.
On February 28, students of class IX of Abagaon Government High School in Harda district were scheduled to appear in English exam. However, erroneously, teachers distributed question paper of the same subject but of class XIIth. Interestingly, these students wrote the paper and went home while teachers collected answer copies and submitted it in school.
On Friday when exam centre in-charge Rajeshwari Dubey went to police station to bring question paper of class 10 board, she found lock of the security box, where question papers are kept, open. The matter was reported to senior officials. District Education Officer, CS Tagore and other officials reached the police station. During course of inquiry it was revealed that the teacher took away wrong question paper and distributed it among the students.
DEO then asked the teacher of the school, Abhilasha Pateria to bring back all question papers. It is said that the teacher had to visit house of every student to bring back the question paper distributed three days ago. Two teachers have been suspended in this matter.
Collector has informed MP Board about the issue.
In another glaring mistake of the school education department, chief secretary SR Mohanty was allotted duty in a school at Khamkheda Jatra village as assistant in-charge of exam centre. The exam centre is located in Ashta tehsil of Sehore district. His name was displayed at school department’s portal but was removed after the matter came to light. DEO, Sehore, SP Tripathi termed it as a fault of people dealing with portal.
