Amazing, awesome, beautiful superb…. These were a few of the superlatives used by the audience, as they streamed out of the Sangeet Cineplex after watching the movi ‘Kedarnath,’ released on Friday. Written, directed and co-produced by Abhishek Kapoor, the movie is based on catastrophe occurred in Uttarakhand in 2013. It is debut movie of Sara Ali Khan, daughter of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Rao.

The acting of the lead actors – Sara and Sushant Singh Rajput was impressive, exclaimed movie buffs while talking to Free Press. We want to see this ‘Jodi’ again on silver screen, said some appreciating the chemistry between the two. They also rubbished the rumours that the movie was allegedly promoting Love-Jihad. In fact, it sends out the message of Hindu-Muslim Unity, they claimed.

“Not at all. The movie has nothing to do with Love-Jihad. It is a Hindu-Muslim love story which shows how a Muslim porter saves a Hindu tourist during the catastrophe and how love eventually blossoms between them. The performance of Sara is good” said an artist, Tanaji Rao.

Ayushi Rajput who works in a private firm said, “It is very good movie. After watching the film, I came to know the impact of the disaster in Kedarnath. I don’t think that the movie promotes ‘Love-Jihad’. In fact it sends out the message of Hindu-Muslim unity as in the climax a Muslim boy Mansoor, sacrificed his life to save others including Hindus.”

All in praise for the film, Chhaya Sharma, a student said, “It is mind blowing movie. Everything is awesome whether it is acting or music. All songs are very good. In fact I liked the real visuals of the tragedy at the end of the movie which shows how air force helped people and saved lives.” Sara Ali Khan is looking very gorgeous, the chemistry of Sara-Sushant is very impressive and we would want to see them again, she added.

Sandeep Sharma who works in Revenue Department said, “It’s a good movie. I came to watch it along with my wife as there are two things in the movie which happened for the first time. It is debut movie of Sara Ali Khan and more importantly it is also the first movie based on Kedarnath tragedy. All in all, it is a mature story.”

Two students, Alifiya and Mubaraka, who came to watch Sara’s debut, said, “It’s amazing. Especially the second-half of the movie is really awesome. Sushant and Sara have done a great job. Also, we wanted to see the view of Kedarnath, that’s why we came to watch the movie.” Jyotsana Singh, a homemaker also applauded the movie, saying, “Bhot Shandar movie hai… and I want to see it again.”
