Bhopal: MLAs say ministers do not respect them

HOSHANGABD/ BHOPAL: At the training session of BJP MLAs at Pachmarhi on Tuesday, Sidhi MLA Kedar Shukla raised the issue of ‘respect’ of MLAs.

In the meeting, Shukla said that ministers are “forgetting their limits” and the MLAs are not getting due respect. Shukla was supported by some other MLAs.

In the meeting, the MLAs were advised not to attack their own party’s government in the House. Minister Gaurishankar Shejwar said that BJP MLAs should not build pressure for transfers, postings and suspension in the House. Union minister Ravishankar Prasad said that MLAs should be more active on the social media. He said there are 33 crore Smart phone users and information posted on Facebook and WhatsApp travels very fast. As many as 65 lakh persons are active on Facebook. Prasad urged the MLAs to intensively publicise government schemes on social media. Union minister Thawarchand Gehlot asked MLAs to maintain decency in the House and abstain from making cheap statements. Gehlot said if we will respect the dignity and decorum of the House, it would enhance our own dignity.  BJP state president Nandkumar Singh Chouhan said we may be seeing with our two eyes but thousands of eyes are watching us. Nandkumar urged the MLAs to ensure that their conduct is above board. He asked the MLAs to get ready for the Assembly elections of 2018 and Lok Sabha elections of 2019. BJP organisational general secretary Suhas Bhagat said MLAs should have coordination with party organisation and party workers. He asked MLAs to refrain from doing things which put them in unfavourable light.

Pavaiya, Nandkumar continue to spar over ‘Shrimant’

With Nandkumar Chouhan giving a statement that he has no objection over the use of the word ‘Shrimant’ for ex-royals, higher education minister Jaibhaan Singh Pavaiya has said that there should be no double standards. Pavaiya said he has no objection to people addressing anyone as Maharaja or Badshah but he is against feudalism in the government.
