Bhopal: Minor girl escapes from clutches of abductors

BHOPAL: A 17-year-old girl jumped from a moving Maruti Van in an attempt to escape from clutches of three youths who abducted her in Kolar on Sunday.

The Kolar police have registered a case of kidnapping, molestation and a case under POCSO Act. However, after medical examination the rape has not been confirmed.

As per the girl’s complaint, three youths abducted her in a car and tried to outrage her modesty. However she managed to get free from their clutches and directly reached police station to report the matter. The incident occurred in between 12 and 1pm on Sunday while she was on her way to home. The accused riding the car, pulled her inside the vehicle and tried to sexually assault her in running car for almost an hour before she could manage to escape from the car and sped away. The traumatized girl with her torn clothes called her father from her mobile phone and then she reached Kolar police station and narrated her ordeal to the cops.

Subsequently, based on her complaint, a case on charges of abduction, molestation and POCSO Act has been registered against unidentified miscreants and search has been initiated to nab them.

SHO Gaurav Singh Bundela said, “A 17-year-old girl was going to her home when three youths Van dragged her in the van. When she raised the alarm. Three youths simply dropped her. The victim basically hails from Khandwa and came to city around one-and-a-half months ago. The rape has not been confirmed in the medical examination.”
