Bhopal: Govindpura police have booked member of mayor-in-council (MIC) Kewal Mishra for hurling abuses on a Hindu outfit leader Diwakar Pandey. Pandey is an office bearer of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). According to police, the complainant had objected to the act of Bhopal Municipal Corporation as waste was allegedly dumped at venue of chhat Pooja, in 2018.
After his objection Pandey filed a police complaint and when the matter was brought into notice of Mishra, he reached Govindpura police station with his associates. There the two groups hurled abuses at each other and a complaint was filed by Pandey against Kewal Mishra at the local police station on December 23. Kewal Mishra said that the allegations are baseless and that he is ready to face inquiry.
Pandey said that at the Chhat ghat, BMC had dumped the debris of a dilapidated toliet and it was done on the orders of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC). Mishra is local corproator and hence he should have taken notice of it, he said. He said that when they went to file a police complant, Mishra manhandled and hurled abuses at them in the police station after which he lodged an FIR.
