A professor of Datia Medical College was transferred to Rewa over complaints of poll code violation against her. Prof Seema Mahanta was transferred from Datia medical college to Rewa on the report of district returning officer. The district officer had corroborated that she had made several posts on social media platforms in favour of a political party (Congress).
Field reports suggest that Mahanta had been vying for Lok Sabha ticket from Congress party from Bhind-Datia Lok Sabha seat. Her posters were also seen at places with AICC national president Rahul Gandhi, CM and Congress state president Kamal Nath and Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia.
The district returning officer in his report has confirmed that the photos in banners and posters were of Prof Seema Mahanta. After this report from the district returning officer, election commission took cognisance and asked Medical Health Education department to take action. Mahanta has been shifted to Rewa besides a memo has been issued in this matter.
