A corner near Nutan Girls College has been give a wholesome makeover by the Smart City Cell. The area was once a marshy place surrounded with bushes and trees and den of mosquitoes, but now it has been turned into one of the most beautiful pockets of the state capital all teeming with greenery, spick and span sitting arrangement, colourful glasses and lightings.
Smart City Cell of the state capital has face-lifted many such corners, unused land and parks. It was levelled, tiled. Greenery was developed in some parts. Designer glasses were installed with lighting. Now, during the day, students can be seen whiling their time with friends under the green cover.
Morning walkers also have a gala time. It is just beginning as Smart City cell has claimed adding that more is in store. Smart City Cell has identified many parts of the state capital for this purpose to enhance the beauty of the pockets. Various parks of even posh areas like E-1 Arera Colony, Alkapuri, Saket Nagar have been beautified.
Smart City Cell CEO Sanjay Kumar said, “It is just the beginning. We have simply face-lifted the unused land with value addition. Now, it is more purposeful for the people. There are three educational institutes—Nutan College, Subhash Excellence School, Central School nearby. Similarly, we have taken over parks of other areas.”
