BHOPAL: The police deployed near MP Assembly went on a tizzy when a 58-year-old man tried to commit suicide by coming in front of the motorcade of CM Shivraj Singh. The man was nabbed before he could come in front of the motrocade after which he was taken to a nearby police station, the police said.
According to the police, accused Santosh Kumar Soni of Baghora village in Chhatarpur district was standing near the exit gate of Assembly on Tuesday. At around 1.30 pm, when the motorcade of the CM was passing near the gate, he suddenly tried to come in front of it with an intention of committing suicide. Before any untoward incident could happen, alert cops nabbed him and arrested him as a preventive measure.
“After arresting him under Section 151 of CrPC, he was taken to Jehangirabad police station where he was questioned about his act. He told the police that he was a labourer in the field and was perturbed due to delay in demarcation of his land by the authorities concerned. He was later taken to the office of ADM from where he would be sent back to Chhattarpur,” said investigating officer, ASI Om Prakash.
