Bhopal: Man accused under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act acquitted

BHOPAL: The district and sessions court on Saturday acquitted an accused charged under in Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, by giving him benefit of doubt. Accused was also facing charges under SC/ST act. ADJ Ram Kumar Chaubey passed the order. Rahul Singh Rathore,22, had eloped a 16 years old girl under Habibganj Police station in 2017. Girl’s parents lodged a missing report and after two months, Rahul returned with girl. A case under sections 363,366,376 of IPC 3 and 4 of POCSO Act, and under SC/ST Act was registered against Rahul Singh.

Advocate Hemant Jain, who appeared on behalf of Rahul Singh, said, “ Habibganj police had registered a case against my client. But court has acquitted him in on benefit of doubt.”
