Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission has sought a report from Panna SP regarding the thrashing of a man in police custody, said officials on Monday.
Panna district Hanumatpur police post in-charge had taken Jagat Patel in custody. The accused was allegedly beaten up by the police officer. The injured man is currently admitted in Ajaygarh hospital. The commission has asked for a detailed report from SP Panna within three weeks.
A case of a boy drowning in a well while his parents were away for panchayat election voting in Chargaon village of Jabalpur has also caught the attention of the commission.
The commission has inquired from the collector if the ex-gratia has been given under RBC (6)(4) to the family. The commission has sought a detailed report within a month's time.
