Bhopal: Light rain lashed state capital in morning hours on Thursday. Besides, cloudy weather prevailed till noon while many parts of MP witnessed active monsoon conditions- which are likely to bring light to moderate rains along with few heavy spells for the next 24 hours.
Rain has been forecasted in most places in Gwalior, Chambal, Indore, Ujjain and Bhopal divisions in next 24 hours. In last 24 hours, Ashok Nagar, Bhanpura and Neemuch each recorded 8cm rainfall while Tendukheda recorded 7cm rainfall and Khurai, Bichhia, Silvani and Begumganj each recorded 6cm. Similarly, Udaipura, Mungawali and Vidisha recorded 5cm and Jabalpur recorded 4cm while Sagar and Hoshangabad, Raisen, Guna recorded 3cm rainfall. More or less entire state experienced on Thursday. This trend is likely to continue for next couple of days.
According to meteorological department, the axis of monsoon trough that governs Monsoon rains over half of the country, has now shifted south. It is presently passing through Shivpuri, center of low pressure over East MP and then south eastwards to East central Bay of Bengal.
Heavy rain warning
Heavy rain warning has been issued in Guna, Ashok Nagar, Shivpuri, Sheopurkalan, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Panna, Tikamgarh, Chhattarpur district for next 24 hours.
