Bhopal: The launching of ‘Ayushman Bharat Yojana’, an initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the medical treatment of people across the country, from August 15 in the state is facing hiccups. The state government is preparing for the scheme but its launch is likely to get delayed here.

The scheme has provision of medical treatment of Rs 5 lakh per year per family. The state government is working on linking of the system with the software made by National Health Centre. The work is going on in phases and it may take around one month to start this system.

The health department is also working on including private hospitals under the scheme. Health department, deputy secretary, Bhaskar Lakshakar, who is looking after the works done under the scheme, said the hospitals, recognized by National Accreditation Board for Hospital, have been included in the initial phase. He said 80 hospitals across the state are included in this category.

Not only Madhya Pradesh, the launching of the scheme in some other states across the country, seems to be difficult. The health department this week will review the time to be taken for the implementation of the scheme. The problem faced in the launching of the scheme is that arrangements of treatment in hospitals would have to be made being it cashless. According to Lakshkar, Central government had not announced official date for launching of the scheme but we would try to get it launched on the set date.

The scheme would be covering 1.40 crore families out of 1.60 crore families in the state. The beneficiaries of this scheme include beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Sambal Yojana, those who get foodgrains at the rate of Re.1 per kilogram and those who come under BPL category in Samajik Samagra data.

The launching of this scheme would lead to discontinuing ‘Rajya Bimari Sahayata Yojana’, which has provision of Rs 2 lakh assistance to the beneficiaries. The said assistance would be stopped with the launch of Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
