The fire at the landfill site in Adampur Chawni, that broke out in Sunday was doused finally on Tuesday evening. It the teams of fire brigade over 48 hours to douse the flames and then douse the smoke that was still billowing out on Tuesday evening. The villagers have again demanded that a road be constructed to the landfill site as the sanitation vehicles are now passing through their doorsteps due to which the health and hygiene of the whole village is compromised.

BMC’s report
Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) is due to submit a report in this regard- where it has reportedly highlighted the weak areas that needed to be worked upon. According to sources, the BMC has highlighted the need of a fire high-dent near the area. There is not fire station around Adampur and the water tankers too have to cover a long way to fetch water. A fire high-dent is needed as such fires breakout suddenly and any delay in relief work may pose threat to the lives of the residents living in the nearby villages.
