CHHATAPUR: Speaking at a function organised in the auditorium of the collectorate on the eve of the Civil Services Day, SDM BB Gangele said here on Thursday that whenever any member of the public comes to an officer for getting his work done, the officer should step into his shoes. “You should just think that you are standing on the other side of the table and you will immediately realise what you should do”, he said.
On this occasion, the officers were urged by the Anandam Sahyogi Lakhanlal Asati to maintain silence for some time and reflect on how they would be able to work better. “Just close your eyes and think of ways to better your own functioning and the functioning of your office”, he said.
Collector Ramesh Bhandari said whenever anyone came to him with any request, he thought that the person had reposed his faith in him and he should prove himself worthy of the faith. He said all officers should take applications put up before them by the members of the public seriously and try their utmost to solve their problems. “Don’t try to put off things,” he said.
Forest conservator OP Uachadia said he would try to ensure that the villagers and others who came to his office with their problems be treated with courtesy and their problems solved as quickly as possible. ADM Dinesh Kumar Maurya said his endeavour would be that the benefits of the government welfare schemes reached the real beneficiaries. Besides state government, officials of AIR, post office, income tax and BSNL were also present at the workshop.
