Bhopal: Journalist files rape case, accused on the run

Bhopal: A 32-year-old woman journalist, mother of two daughters, has filed an FIR against two men for allegedly raping her. The scribe alleged that she was gang-raped at a farm house in Gandhi Nagar area by two accused Shekhar Soni and Sanjay Sisodiya.

She alleged that they are be acquainted with her husband, who had taken Rs 2.5 lakh cash from Soni, Kolar police said on Saturday. According to SHO Naveen Pandey, the woman stated that her husband is posted in News Service and had earlier taken Rs 2.5 lakh cash from accused Shekhar Soni and Sanjay Sisodiya was mediator in getting the money.

Police said the financial condition of her family’s is not sound even then her husband had repaid part of the loan through cheques but accused Soni used to threaten victim that he would frame her husband in cheque bounce case. She alleged that on September 17, 2018, Sanjay Sisodiya called victim over phone and told her that Shekhar wants to meet her and settle the money dispute issue with her after which she went to Polytechnic Square from where Sanjay took her in car and they went to a farm house located in Gandhi Nagar area where they took turns to rape her.

Later they left her at Mata Mandir Square and threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed about the incident to anyone. She told police that after the incident the accused allegedly outraged her modesty on several occasions in past six months. On January 28, she mustered courage and narrated her ordeal to her husband after which the couple approached Kolar police station but no FIR was lodged on her complaint and it was only after intervention of senior police officials that a case under sections 376, 376 (2) (N), 376 (D), 450 and 506 of the IPC was registered against both the accused on Friday. A police team raided the houses of both the accused on Friday night but after learning about FIR against them, they are on the run.
