BHOPAL: Makhanlal Chaturvedi University and Netlink won their matches of the Oriental Cup 6th Inter College Corporate Tournament on Sunday. The first match was played between Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Makhanlal Chaturvedi University (MCU). BMC won the toss, elected to bat first and got all-out at 89 runs in 17 overs. Vijay of BMC gave a contribution of 23 runs and Kamal made 17 runs. Abhishek of MCU bowled brilliantly and picked 2 wickets. MCU chased the given target in 11 overs at a loss of 5 wickets, Abhishek made 59 runs and BMC’s Farad picked 3 wickets. MCU won the match by 5 wickets and Abhishek was given Man of the Match for his all-round excellent performance.
The second match was played between Netlink and Architect team. Architect team won the toss, elected to bat first and scored 147 runs in 20 overs at a loss of 7 wickets. Vinay of Architect team gave a contribution of 26 runs while Arun scored 27 runs. Asif and Kamlesh of Netlink both clinched 2 wickets each. The top order batsmen of Netlink got out early but the middle order batsmen batted excellently and the team chased the target in 17 overs at a loss of 7 wickets. Deepak scored 58 runs and Ashik batted 16 runs. Netlink won the match by 3 wickets and Deepak was given Man of the Match.The Man of the Match prize was given away by the Chief Guest, CEO, Netlink, Anurag Srivastava.
