BHOPAL: Mayor Alok Sharma, made a major announcement during the inaugural function of rooftop solar energy plant at Bhopal Municipal Corporation headquarters at Mata Mandir, that a rebate of 3 to 5 percent would be given to people for installing rooftop solar panels in their houses. Besides, the solar energy plants would be installed on the BMC buildings 30 per cent subsidy of would be provided to persons for solar panels installation. Solar panels of 35KW worth Rs 19.11 lakh was installed at BMC Headquarters.
The mayor said, “Simultaneously with Smart City, Bhopal will be solar city in the days to come.
Smart City Development Corporation Ltd penned an MoU with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for installation of Solar panels of 3KW at hospitals, privates educations institutes, orphanage, NGOs, religious places and for domestic use.
BMC commissioner Chhavi Bharadwag, MiC members Krishna Mohan Soni, Surendra Badika, Mahesh Makwana, Kewal Mishra, Asha Jain, Dinesh Yadav, Manoj Choubey, Bhupendra Mali, Shankar Makoria, Manjushri Barakia, Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation CEO Chandramauli Shukla, deputy commissioner, PR, Harish Gupta, corporators and BMC officials were also present during the inaugural ceremony.
