A joint-team comprising of police officials from Rajgarh district and district administration has seized illicit liquor and raw material used for making liquor in Kataria Khedi village of Biaora, rural under Rajgarh district. The market price of seized liquor is said to be around Rs 52 lakh. Cases against more than a dozen accused have been filed under section 34(2) of Excise Act. Rajgarh district collector Nidhi Nivedita and superintendent of police Pradeep Shama led the teams and succeeded in nabbing the accused and illicit liquor.
Bhopal inspector general of police (IG) Jaideep Prasad said the team raided the Kataria Khedi village and destroyed the equipments used for making illicit raw liquor. The team also destroyed the raw material Mahua Lahan, worth around Rs 32 lakh, used to make liquor. A team, led by district magistrate and SP, raided the dens of illicit liquor in Gulkhedi village and seized around 7000 litre of illicit liquor. The market price of the seized liquor is said to be around Rs 21 lakh.
