Bhopal: Chief Minister Kamal Nath has articulated in the open connection with rumours on I-T raids on his confidants. Nath, interacting with media persons on Wednesday, said the state government will take stern action against scams and frauds and the raids conducted by Income Tax departments were made public just to divert attention. Nath said statements given by BJP leaders merely show their mentality and it is highly disappointing. He said the character of BJP and its true colours will be exposed in time to come.
Nath, on the issue of an order cancelling allotment of a part of land of Institute of Management and Technology at Ghaziabad, said there was no encroachment. He claimed that it was all politically motivated and Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has not served any notice so far. Nath said the construction was done 30 years ago and GDA had given all permissions. He claimed that the GDA never objected and it was all done as part of political conspiracy. Nath said his government has no threat from anyone and Congress government enjoys support of all MLAs. He said 120 MLAs have given their support in writing in a meeting of legislature party held on May 26.
Appraisal report
I-T raids on Kamal Nath’s confidants triggered a stir. I-T department prepared an appraisal report of raids. All allegations on Nath are based on this appraisal. I-T sleuths have so far not found any direct link to Nath. So far officials have not established any relation between Nath and Ashwin Sharma, from whom more than Rs10 cr was recovered. Similarly, these officials did not recover any cash or document from Nath’s political advisor RK Miglani implicating Nath.
