Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav took part in a review meeting on the implementation of three new criminal laws in Madhya Pradesh in the office of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Friday.

The implementation and current status of the provisions related to police, jail, court, prosecution and forensics were discussed. Shah issued instructions for carrying out three new criminal laws in the state.

MP is the first state in the country which has implemented the e-summons system, Yadav said. Shah praised the state for this new system and advised other states to follow it. Yadav said training programmes were being held on a large scale for effective implementation of three new criminal laws in the state.

The target is to complete the recruitment and training of forensic science experts in the police force in the next two years, Yadav said. Under the new legal provisions in the state, cases are being resolved quickly on the basis of electronic evidence by using modern resources, he said.

According to Yadav, this has made the judicial process easier, saving time and reducing the inconvenience of doctors. Shah was told that Yadav would review the progress of implementation of new laws every month and the Chief Secretary would do so fortnightly. Senior officials of the State and Union Home Ministry, including Chief Secretary Anurag Jain and Inspector General of Police Kailash Makwana, were present in the meeting.
