SHIVPURI: A head constable received bullet injuries during celebratory firing on the premises of the Dehat police station on Tuesday, where the policemen had gathered to celebrate Holi. He was taken to the district hospital, where he succumbed during treatment.
The incident happened at around 2 pm. The victim was Rajendra Jatav. A bullet fired from his own pistol hit Jatav on his forehead and he collapsed. He leaves behind his wife and three small children. As soon as the information was conveyed to the senior officers, collector OP Shrivastava, SP Sunil Kumar Pandey and others rushed to the district hospital. A magisterial enquiry has been ordered into the incident. The SP said, “This is a very unfortunate and sad accident. A magisterial probe will be done”.
